CHARM CITY TRAINING STAFF
Jereme RaleyFounder of Charm City Training Academy. Jereme boasts a decorated playing career. Having grown up playing for the Baltimore Bays, he won multiple national and regional championships at club level, under current Loyola men's soccer coach Steve Nicols. From there, he went on to play at the University of Maryland where he played multiple positions in the back and midfield. Winning Three ACC & One Big Ten Title and appearing in the 2013 NCAA National Final. After college, he signed with the Pittsburgh Riverhounds of the USL Championship before signing with the Baltimore Blast later on that year. Since joining the Blast, Raley has won three MASL championships and recently just finished his eighth season. Raley also started coaching collegiately in 2017 and was an Assistant Men's Soccer Coach at St Mary's College for the past 5 seasons, leading to a winning record each season. He left the program last summer to become the Head Coach of the Newly Formed Women's Baltimore Blast Team. Who finished third out of nine in the UWSL League 2.
Kingsley Onwuka
Kingsley joins us with a vast array of experience both playing and coaching. Kinglsey is a native of Nigeria before moving to Baltimore at an early age. He attended Kenwood High School. From there, he made the move to CCBC Essex. In two years at CCBC Essex he scored 21 goals in 28 games. Catching the eye of UMBC where he was an integral part of the team. Winning the American East Conference in 2010. After college, he went to play professionally in the USL, MASL & NISA. Once done playing, he took a varsity assistant coaching job at John Carroll in 2016. The next year he became varsity head coach at Kenwood HS where he won Baltimore County Division Championship in 2021. He also served as a volunteer assistant coach at that time for the Men's Soccer Program at Notre Dame of Maryland. In 2022, Kingsley was named Head Coach of CCBC Catonsville Men's Soccer Program. In his first year they went 2-14-1 before massively improving in his second season to 6-9-3 in 2023 while also additionally sending players to D1, D2, D3 college soccer programs.
Phil Saunders
Coach Phil will run the Goalkeeping program at Charm City Soccer Academy. A Baltimore Native, he grew up playing for the Baltimore Bays and Perry High School. He attended UMBC from 2009-2013 where he became one of the top goalies in Retriever History. Being named second team all-conference his junior & senior year and American East Tournament Most Outstanding Player in 2012. He captained the legendary UMBC 2013 team who made it to the Final Four for the first time in program history. Phil turned pro playing in the second division in Iceland. He played a couple seasons there before returning to Baltimore where he signed with the Baltimore Blast. In 2017 he was named CCBC Catonsville Head Coach. In two seasons, he led them to an overall record of 16-17-4. He left the program to pursue other job opportunities. However, he remained involve with collegiate soccer joining the UMBC staff in 2019 as a volunteer assistant coach. Phil now currently is the GK Coach for the Baltimore Blast working with professional players daily.

Petey CaringiOne of the founding members of Charm City Training Academy, Pete "Petey" Caringi III joins us with an impressive coaching and playing background. Petey grew up and played club soccer in Baltimore. He was teammates with Jereme Raley & Phil Saunders at the Baltimore Bays and played high school ball at Calvert Hall. From there, Petey went on to play at UMBC under his dad, Pete Caringi Jr. Petey's career flourished at UMBC. Scoring 37 goals in his four years there, making him fourth overall in scoring in Retriever program history. He won multiple awards including All American his senior, 2x American East Striker of the year, and was a semifinalist for the MAC Herman Award, given to the best collegiate player in the nation. After UMBC, Petey was drafted Montreal Impact and later signed with OKC Energy of the USL. Once done playing, Petey returned to UMBC as an assistant coach. Petey continues to Coach at UMBC, going into his 11th season under the helm where they continue to be a regional and national powerhouse collegiately.
Emma KershnerEmma joins Charm City Soccer Academy after recently taking the assistant coaching job for the Loyola Women's Soccer Program. She brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the academy. Growing up, Emma played club soccer in Northern Viginia for FC Virginia. She became one of the top players in the state where she then committed to Indiana University. She played two years there, appearing in 18 matches before transferring to VCU. At VCU, she received numerous honors including Atlantic 10 Midfielder of the Year and being named First Team All Atlantic 10 Conference both Junior & Senior Years. She joined Washington Spirit for preseason after her senior year, winning the 2021 NWSL Challenge Cup. After playing, Emma joined D1 Austin Peay women's coaching staff. She served two years as an assistant coach before finding her new home in Baltimore with the Greyhounds.
Sumer Rahe
Sumer will help run the goalkeeper academy for Charm City. She boasts a strong playing career as she transitions into the coaching side of the game. Originally from Southern California. Sumer played for one of the top ECNL teams in the country with San Diego Surf. She had tremendous success there as a player, finishing second at the 2012 ECNL National Championships. She would later receive a call up to the US Youth National Team. From California to Baltimore, Sumer committed to Loyola. She became the starter there her sophomore year and was named captain both her junior & senior year. She was named team MVP in 2017 and Most Dedicated player in 2018. In total, she appeared in 49 Games in 4 seasons with the Greyhounds. She continues to play, most recently now with the Baltimore Blast Women's Team where she was the starting goalkeeper in their inaugural season. She also has gotten into coaching. Most recently finishing up with Maryland ODP, where she is a part of the GK Staff.

Mark PlaissanceMark Plaisance will be a great addition to the staff. Possessing numerous expertise in different fields including performance training, strength & conditioning, and coaching as well. Mark grew up in Maryland and played collegiately at Mt St Mary's and American University, where he captained the side his senior year. After, Mark studied strength & conditioning and later became certified in the field. His first job landed him at the University of Maryland as Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach. After a year with the program, he took a larger role as Performance Coach for the Women's and Men's Program at Loyola in Baltimore. He spent a several years at the college. Before, becoming the performance coach for DC United's Academy in 2021. There, he was a part of the DC United U16 Coaching staff that won the MLS Cup. He has now recently returned to Loyola where he has taken up his previous role as Performance Coach for the Men's and Women's Teams. As well as running technical sessions and being a part of day-to-day training on the field and in the gym.
Fabio BarrosFabio comes to Charm City Soccer Academy with a wealth of coaching experience. Currently, going into his third season as Associate Women's Head Coach for Mt St Mary's. He helped lead the program to winning their conference championship in 2023 and appearing in the NCAA Tournament for the first time in over a decade. Prior, he was an Assistant Women's Coach for D1 side St Peter's. Spending three years there from 2019-2021 with Melissa Sherwood who's now the Head Coach at Mt St Mary's with him. Fabio also possesses international coaching experience. Spending time in Portugal working with Portuguese first division clubs CS Maritoma and Boavista in a 3-year span. He also had coaching stints with Harford Community College and Washington Spirit U19.
